HOMELESSNESS

The City of New Westminster is developing a new Homelessness Action Strategy: a five-year vision and plan for addressing homelessness in our local community. The project includes a range of engagement efforts, including listening to people with lived and living experience of homelessness.

We also want to hear from community members about your priorities and ideas for actions the City and others can take to help address homelessness in New West. Your input through the survey will help shape the strategy that will be presented to City Council this spring.

SPORTS COURTS

The Parks & Recreation Department is reviewing current usage of the City’s indoor and outdoor sports courts. There has been a growing demand for sports court space from different user groups, with a limited number of courts and hours available.

We want to continue to support all user groups and offer a range of sport court programming in New West. So, we are reviewing existing drop-in days, times and courts with the intent to better match community needs.

Let us know how you currently use City-operated sports courts, and your preferences! Community input will help guide our future planning for court facilities, staff and program schedules.
