According to the nearly fifty Quay residents who attended, it was a preferred location to the welcoming but noisy River Market main floor where it had been traditionally held.

While the presentation from the City of New Westminster; Transportation Department on Speed Bumps and Parking ( see POST LINK) garnered much interest with the Quay residents, it was the slide-show presentations by the Arts Council of New Westminster and ‘Retrofitting for Ev Stations’ by CIELO ELECTRIC that held the QCB members attention. [See ‘FEAETURE’ section on home page to access slide shows]

Of course, an important part of the AGM is recognizing those who have volunteered their time to the betterment of the Quayside community without pay or reward – just a selfless desire to help their community. This year two long time serving qcb BOARD MEMBERS AND Quayside resdients Marta Nykl and Paul Jackson were honoured with the ‘Community Service’ plaque for all their work.

You can see the slide shows by CIELO and the ACNW on the Home page under ‘FEATURES’.

We recognize and respect that New Westminster is on the unceded and unsurrendered land of the Halkomelem-speaking peoples. We acknowledge that colonialism has made invisible their histories and connections to the land.
