To best understand the most effective key messages and communications and engagement tactics, the City wishes to meet with key stakeholders to seek input on these key elements. The Whistler Centre for Sustainability and Elevator Strategy have been contracted by the City to conduct these meetings and to develop the communications and engagement strategy.
As resident associations are key stakeholders, their input is greatly valued. We are inviting the President, or a representative of the QCB association, to a meeting on Tuesday February 11th, 1:00 – 3:00pm, in Committee Room #1 at New Westminster City Hall.

[/cs_text][x_custom_headline level=”h5″ accent=”false”]*CITY: Climate Emergency[/x_custom_headline][cs_text]Earlier in 2019, our Council declared a climate emergency, essentially taking on the greenhouse gas reduction targets set out by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, thus working with others in achieving the GHG reductions required to keep global temperature increases below 1.5 degrees Celcius.
In response to the climate emergency, New Westminster City Council has endorsed a 2020 Climate Action Budgeting Framework for the City’s 2020 budget process, as well as the 7 Bold Steps below to guide the process with the goal of moving New Westminster towards a zero carbon future by 2050.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][/cs_content]
