On behalf of the New Westminster Overdose Community Action Team, we are requesting your help in circulating a 5-minute anonymous survey on how the overdose crisis is impacting local businesses.
We realize this survey is for local businesses, but it has been suggested to us that many members of the resident’s associations are local business owners, and are thus reaching out to you.
Between January 2016 and March 2019, an estimated 12,800 Canadians died from an opioid-related overdose. In New Westminster, the number of deaths increased from 10 in 2016 to 35 in 2018. The New Westminster Overdose Community Action Team (NWOCAT) formed in May 2018 to support local ways to address the overdose crisis.
The NWOCAT members recognize that you are often managing challenging situations inside and outside your place of businesses.
This survey will inform them on how we can all work together to create a compassionate, thriving community.
