Main Site
Our initial site preparation has finished and we will be commencing partial construction along the waterside portion of our property. This involves construction of a shoring wall which includes some piling works and is scheduled to be completed in early Spring 2019. All works will comply with the Bylaws of the City of New Westminster.

Other Works

The sidewalk area in front of the Fraser River Discovery Centre will be under construction from mid-Fall 2018 through early Winter. Traffic Flaggers will be onsite to assist with routing pedestrians through the area. Any impacts to traffic flow along Quayside Drive will be minor and infrequent.

While Construction is Underway
As you may have noticed, safety fencing and a new temporary pathway connecting River Market to Westminster Pier Park have been installed and is being actively used.

A few reminders:
– Public parking will continue to be open
– A pedestrian connection from River Market and the Fraser River Discovery Centre to Westminster Pier Park will remain available

We are excited to continue this first stage in the evolution of the next addition to the Waterfront Community of New Westminster and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we get started.

We recognize and respect that New Westminster is on the unceded and unsurrendered land of the Halkomelem-speaking peoples. We acknowledge that colonialism has made invisible their histories and connections to the land.
