The playground will also be redeveloped to provide a new and improved play experience for children.

The replacement of the storm drainage outfall is required to improve the release of run-off into the Fraser River and reduce the risk of flooding in the area.
Following the underground engineering work (approx. 8-10 weeks), Quayside Park will be redeveloped. The new design for the park will greatly enhance the play experience, better serve the current and future needs of the Quayside neighbourhood, and improve the experience for pedestrians and cyclists along the Waterfront Esplanade.

During the sewer outfall construction, a portion of the Waterfront Esplanade will be closed and cyclists and pedestrians will be rerouted to Quayside Drive. Detour signage, as above, will be placed at appropriate locations.

The construction is underway and will be completed in July 2017, weather depending. There should be little traffic disruptions during construction and access through your neighbourhood will be maintained at all times. For more detailed information on the upcoming work and the various stages of construction, please visit our website at www.newwestcity.ca/projectsonthego.

During construction we will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to residents; however, with work of this nature, some inconvenience will be unavoidable and we ask for your patience and cooperation during construction.
